Green Economy Strategies and Practices For Sustainable Development

Abstract

Since the 18th century, with the Industrial Revolution, urbanization movements have started at a very high rate in the world and many environmental problems have occurred in line with these policies. According to the current economic paradigm, four main factors of production are identified. These factors of production are labor, entrepreneurship, natural resources and capital. However, this paradigm leaves all control to the free market, and therefore it is assumed that all resources will be renewed by the market sweeping itself. However, natural resources, one of the most important factors of production, are not unlimited and face the danger of extinction. In this context, the idea of sustainable development has been discussed as an alternative solution to the ecological crisis. In our study, the concept of sustainable development will be examined and the concept of green economy, which constitutes the economic pillar of this philosophy, will be explained.
